I chose to reside in Morgan County, Georgia, because the undeveloped countryside and beauty of the sparsely populated area were a great inspiration for my work. It is also very close in many ways to the Amish community where I lived as a child in my native birth state of Pennsylvania. Those formative years shaped my desire to paint all things old - old machinery, old farm buildings, old homes. In my 25 years as a Georgia resident, I’ve been privileged to paint the echoes of the past here in Morgan County – buildings and machinery that no longer exist today.

I make my living in the field of commercial graphic art and design. On the fine art side, I enjoy working in color pencil, oils, pencil, gouache and pen-and-ink. I love the spring time here, and have lots of flowers planted around the house. I've done a series of paintings in color pencils and oils under the Copyrighted collection "Flowers I Have Known." Each flower painted is from my own garden. When they bloom I photograph them and use them for later reference, painting them at my leisure.

I thoroughly enjoy rendering the Antebellum and Victorian architecture of North Georgia in different mediums. I also just love painting the few remaining old farms and farm implements dotting the countryside surrounding Morgan County. I can evoke different feelings about the same subject using different media from pencil, pen and ink, acrylics, watercolor or oils.

I have won several awards with my commercial graphic and fine art work through the years, and have been an integral part of several artists' organizations where I have resided. I'm a co-founder of the Madison Artists Guild in Madison, Georgia, founded in 1985.
